Journalism awards luncheon Oct. 1

The San Francisco Peninsula Press Club will present the 39th Greater Bay Area Journalism Awards on Saturday, Oct. 1. More than 100 journalists representing 29 media organizations will receive awards at the luncheon. The Greater Bay Area Journalism Contest is sponsored by SmallTownPapers Inc. The awards ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza in Foster City, 1221 Chess Drive. The Press Club received 241 entries this year. The judging was done by press clubs in other cities

Greater Bay Area Journalism Awards announced

The San Francisco Peninsula Press Club presented the 38th Greater Bay Area Journalism Awards on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, which honored the work of more than 140 journalists representing 35 media organizations. The club presented nearly 200 awards during the luncheon at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City. The club received received 398 entries from the 11 counties in the Bay Area. The contest was judged by press clubs in Cleveland, Florida, New Orleans, Orange County and Kern County.

Enter the high school journalism contest

The San Francisco Peninsula Press Club is inviting high school journalists from throughout the Bay Area to submit entries for our annual high school journalism contest. The deadline to enter is May 8, so there isn’t much time. The awards will be presented on May 21 in Redwood City. The contest is sponsored by Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo. Time to enter the Press Club’s contest

It’s that time of year to submit entries for the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club’s annual Greater Bay Area Journalism Awards. Here’s a link to download the form that gives the rules and entry information (PDF) (Word doc). The deadline to enter is Friday, Feb. 28, 2014. The entry fees are $15 members, $55 non-members, $30 same company with 25 or more, per entry. However, your first entry is FREE with a 2014 Paid Membership. Each additional entry only $15.

Tickets on sale for awards dinner

Perlman Tickets are now on sale for the Press Club’s 36th annual awards dinner, which is set for Saturday, June 1, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City. The reception (no host) is set for 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7. Deadline for high school contest

Saturday is the deadline to enter the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club’s high school journalism contest. Here’s a link to the entry form. As the form explains, entries can be submitted online. Categories include best news story, feature story, sports story, editorial, news photo, sports photo, layout and design, website design and website content.
