Steve Davis, a reporter and anchor at KGO from 1971 to 1991, has died from cancer. KGO says, “He reported extensively on the SLA, the group that kidnapped Patty Hearst. His interview with the cult’s former lawyer was a grim warning of what was to come … Steve traveled to Mount Saint Helens to experience the area near the volcano’s crater first hand. In 1991, he was part of the team that brought viewers the devastating news of the Oakland firestorm.”
