Jerry Carroll, a retired Chronicle writer who broke the story about the Zebra murders, is re-starting his career as a writer for Hot Springs (Ark.) Village Voice. That paper’s Jan. 18 edition carries a story about Carroll’s exploits in the 1960s, 70s and 80s at the Chronicle. Carroll went on to fiction writing in the 1990s, producing two novels, “Top Dog” and “Inhuman Beings.”
