The University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communications is accepting nominations for the Payne Awards for Ethics in Journalism, which honor those who report with “insight and clarity in the face of political or economic pressure.” Awards may be given annually to a working professional and a student journalist in broadcasting, print or new media, and to a news organization that exhibits high ethical behavior. Individual and student awards include a $1,000 prize. Deadline: Feb. 24, 2006.
