At a meeting Wednesday (Feb. 8) of the general managers of San Francisco’s TV and news-radio stations, one of the most interesting concepts discussed was “Google-proofing” the news. That means, a station will seek stories people can’t find on the Internet. Of course local news is often reported first by local stations, before it hits the Internet. In this story by Palo Alto Daily News managing editor Jamie Casini, the managers agreed that local coverage makes their stations valuable.
