The Peninsula Press Club is offering $3,600 in scholarships for students in the 11-county Bay Area. The club plans to award two $1,500 scholarships in the name of Herb Caen, the late SF Chronicle columnist, and another $600 scholarship in memory of the late sportswriter Merv Harris, who worked for a number of Peninsula newspapers.
