KGO-TV Channel 7 is preparing to launch a live, hour-long daily local talk show June 26 featuring meteorologist Spencer Christian and reporter Janelle Wang (both pictured at left), according to MediaWeek.com. The show, “The View from the Bay,” will air at 3 p.m., sandwiched between “General Hospital” and Oprah. “With everything that’s happening in television these days, it’s more important than ever to have good, strong local programming,” Therese Gamba, KGO vp of programming/station marketing, told MediaWeek. The last hour-long local daytime talk show on a Bay Area station was “People Are Talking,” featuring Ross McGowan and Ann Fraser, which aired on KPIX Channel 5 from 1978 to 1991.
