Kelly Zito, a Chron staff writer, has been named a Knight-Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor for the 2006-07 academic year. Each Knight-Wallace Fellow receives a stipend of $55,000, supported by gifts from foundations, news organizations and individuals committed to improving the quality of information reaching the public. Zito’s speciality will be water quality and scarcity issues in environmental politics.
