Melanie Morgan (pictured), co-host of “Hot Talk” KSFO-AM 560’s morning show, has made the pages of the New Yorker magazine with a comment attributed to her about New York Times editor Bill Keller (a San Mateo native). A commentary by New Yorker Editor David Remnick about the Bush administration’s war on the press includes this:
“On the airwaves and in the blogosphere, it got uglier. Melanie Morgan, a shouter on northern California’s biggest talk radio station, told the San Francisco Chronicle that if Bill Keller, the executive editor of the Times, ‘were to be tried and convicted of treason, yes, I would have no problem with him being sent to the gas chamber.’”
We don’t know if the quote attributed to Morgan is correct or not, but KSFO isn’t the biggest talk station in Northern California. The last ratings book gave KGO a 6.3 share compared to a 3.2 for KSFO.
