The Northern California Radio-Television News Directors Association will hold a conference Saturday, Oct. 28, designed to help students get into broadcast journalism. The conference will also help seasoned professionals sharpen their skills and network with news managers from northern California. The schedule includes a session on getting that next job — things like “how to structure your audition tape.” Another session will look at KRON’s Video Journalism effort, where reporters also carry video cameras. Participants can also sign up for tours of the San Francisco TV and radio news stations. The conference will be held at the ABC Broadcast Center, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is being held on the same day as the news director association’s awards banquet, which will take place that night at the Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf.
