The Chronicle is dropping its “Farley” comic strip, 3-1/2 months after its creator, Phil Frank (pictured), died of a brain tumor at age 64. A full page of strips appears in today’s edition as a farewell and five-years of strips are posted at www.sfgate.com/philfrank/. The Chronicle says it was the only local comic strip in the country.
