A former Sonoma County radio newsman known as Ron Kirk was sentenced Friday to six years in prison after pleading guilty to molesting a child, the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports. Ron Kirk Kuhlmeyer, 49, a former KSO and KZST news reporter and anchor, will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. He was accused of touching his daughter’s 11-year-old friend inappropriately on almost a weekly basis over three years, between July 2004 to August 2006. He left the air soon after his Oct. 23 arrest. The girl, now 15, told Press Democrat columnist Chris Smith in May that Kuhlmeyer “took the easy way out” with his guilty plea.
