The Chron says it will print a full-page 3-D ad in Friday’s edition. The ad will be for Verizon and the paper will also have an insert from the mobile phone company. We’re assuming the viewing of the ad in 3-D will not require special glasses. The Chronicle’s color reproduction has improved since it started using new presses owned by an outside contractor, so maybe 3-D is the next step.

  1. Lame ad….Full page ad of a guy looking up with some swirls behind him and of course Verizon logo info on their "Rule the Air" advertizsing campaign. We found the glasses before we found the ad, which had no info as to what the glasses were for. Googled the glasses to find out there was an ad to go with it. I am in Arizona and the ad was deep into the first section of the newspaper and I hardly pay attention to the ads. Not worth the money Verizon paid for it.

  2. it's might be like John Candy's SCTV skit "Doctor Tongue's 3D House of Stewardesses" where he would take objects like a phone book or brandy snifter and thrust back and forth toward the camera to create the 3D effect.

  3. I don't know how on earth they could have a 3D ad without special glasses for viewing it, but we'll just have to wait and see I s'pose
