It will now be easier than ever to follow or interact with the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club. The Press Club has begun posting its news items on Facebook. And we now have a Twitter account to keep you informed of our activities and items of interest. We invite your suggestions about how we can use social media in the future.

  1. Tell the truth. It is not easier to interact with the Peninsula Press Club– it is easier to interact with Twitter and Facebook.

    These two social media gimmicks are hugely overvalued– as are the superfluity of reader opinions, perhaps including my own, which seldom rise above triviality.

    I think media, especially newspapers, were hurt most when true Letters to the Editor pages became irrelevant.

    Today (paraphrasing Erich Fromm), we have much but are little.
