New publisher named for Daily News

Paterson

The Bay Area News Group’s Daily News in Menlo Park has a new publisher. Steve Paterson, who was previously publisher of the Port Arthur (Texas) News, will replace Justin Wilcox, who resigned in March to become publisher of a newspaper in Johnson City, Tenn.

Paterson, 57, headed the Texas newspaper since March 2011. Prior to that, he was publisher of the The Edmond Sun in Edmond, Okla. He has 31 years of experience with various daily and weekly publications, according to a story in Thursday’s Daily News.

Paterson will also head The Daily News’ sister publications — the Milpitas Post, Pacifica Tribune and the Silicon Valley Community Newspapers group.
