MERCHANDIZING
President Curtis Sparrer proposed SFPC create an online store that will sell items to help promote the club. The proposed items include baseball caps, t-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, tote bags, etc. that sport our name. Curtis found a print-on-demand vendor who will only take a 10% cut of the sales and rest goes to SFPC. He said there is no cost to the SFPC. We will promote the sales through the SFPC website and newsletter. Curtis will ask for a contract and circulate it to all the directors for review. The Board approved establishing an SFPC Store.
AWARDS GALA
The Board approved holding the SFPC Awards Gala on Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Julia Morgan Ballroom. The capacity is 300 and it comes with all the
A-V needs. The total cost that includes a sit-down dinner is $31,000. The plan is to try and keep the cost at $75 per person. To meet the cost with some profit, we expect an increase in revenue from contest entries and attendance. Curtis Sparrer will also intensify efforts to secure more sponsors. Treasurer Dustin Gardiner reported that last year’s Gala took in $46,000, but our costs were $24,000 for a profit of $22,000. Lastly, Curtis and Stacy Tiffin are collaborating on securing wine donation for the Gala.
SCHOLARSHPS
One of the goals of the SFPC Gala is to establish some scholarships. It was proposed to consider launching a small scholarship program this year for local students. More discussion will follow at the next meeting.
SOURCE SERVICE
It was proposed that the SFPC consider creating a source service to help journalists. No action was taken, but further discussion will take place at our next meeting.
