San Francisco – November 13, 2024 – The San Francisco Press Club today announced that meteorologist Roberta Gonzales has joined its board of directors by unanimous vote.
“As a meteorologist, Roberta has a special ability to communicate so much warmth, no matter the temperature,” said Curtis Sparrer, president of the San Francisco Press Club. “Roberta spent the past several decades winning over viewers with her reliable, engaging reports about an otherwise unpredictable facet of Bay Area life.”
While Roberta has been at KTVU since 2021, she was a reporter and meteorologist at KPIX-TV in San Francisco for 21 years. Before that, she spent seven years as a meteorologist at WMAQ-TV in Chicago after leaving KNTV in San Jose.
“As a journalist and meteorologist with nearly 40 years in the television and radio industry, I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors for the esteemed San Francisco Press Club,” Gonzales said. “I am passionate about fostering the exchange of ideas and opinions among professionals across news and public relations, creating a collaborative environment for fellowship, and promoting professional competence and growth.”
Roberta will join the Board at the San Francisco Press Club’s 47th awards gala on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at The Julia Morgan Ballroom. Cocktail service will begin at 5:30 p.m., and dinner and awards will commence at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets will cost $200 at the door, but The San Francisco Press Club is now selling them for $65 for current members, $75 for working journalists, $50 for students (with valid ID) and $150 for non-journalist allies. Full tables for groups of up to ten can be purchased online, too. Last year’s gala sold out quickly. Purchase your tickets today.
