San Francisco —April 24, 2024— The San Francisco Press Club today announced that Jon Swartz has joined its board of directors by unanimous vote. Swartz serves as a senior reporter for MarketWatch in San Francisco, covering many of the best-known tech companies, such as Netflix, Facebook, and Google. In fact, Jon has made a name for himself as a tech media veteran, having worked for more than 20 years for outlets such as Barron’s and USA Today.
“As a Bay Area native who has worked in the Bay Area market for Dow Jones, USA Today, Forbes, the San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News, and NBC Bay Area, I’ve closely followed the region and look forward to giving back in any way I can,” said Swartz. “With the board, I hope to foster a collaborative community for media professionals and a robust environment for ground-breaking reporting. My hope is that media operations of all sizes, particularly small-town publications, support and learn from one another.”
“Jon is the epitome of the Bay Area newsman,” said Curtis Sparer, the president of the SF Press Club and principal of Bospar PR. “His experience in the newsrooms across the Bay Area will help give the SF Press Club the insight we need to better serve our members, from local newsrooms to national news bureaus.”
