SAN FRANCISCO – November 25, 2024 The San Francisco Press Club announced the sponsorship from J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines for the SF Press Club 47th annual awards gala. The awards gala, honoring the best of Bay Area journalism, takes place December 4th.

The awards gala will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at The Julia Morgan Ballroom. Cocktail service will begin at 5:30 p.m., and dinner and awards will commence at 6:30 p.m. CNBC’s Deirdre Bosa of “TechCheck” and KQED’s Marisa Lagos will emcee.
The agenda includes:
- KQED’s Marisa Lagos moderating a discussion about the upshot of the presidential election with former Mayor Willie Brown and Phil Matier
- Giving the Press Club’s first-ever Integrity in Journalism Award to Mariel Garza, the former editorials editor of the Los Angeles Times
- Honoring John King with the Lifetime Achievement Award after King retired in October from his longtime position as the San Francisco Chronicle’s urban design critic
- Introducing new board members Techolote’s Erika Carlos and KTVU’s Roberta Gonzales
