SAN FRANCISCO — April 30, 2025 — The San Francisco Press Club today announced the appointment of Claudia Cowan, longtime San Francisco-based correspondent for Fox News Channel, to its board of directors.

“With over 35 years of experience as a journalist, Claudia brings a deep understanding of the Northern California media landscape and a strong commitment to fair, balanced reporting,” said Curtis Sparrer, president of the San Francisco Press Club. “Her extensive background in regional media will be a tremendous asset to the board.”

Cowan has worked in Monterey, Sacramento and San Francisco and has served as Fox News’ Bay Area correspondent since 1995.

“My mother was an actress, and my father was a legend in entertainment PR, and as a TV reporter, I feel I represent the best of my parents’ talents,” said Cowan. “As one of the very early hires at Fox News Channel, I’ve spent the last 27 years in San Francisco convincing people — many of whom don’t like Fox News — to talk to me, trust me and feel assured that I will let both sides present their best arguments.”

Cowan’s mission aligns with the Press Club’s core values of journalistic integrity and community. “I want to encourage open dialogue and collaboration, and I like the idea of supporting each other and meaningful journalism,” she added. “I welcome the chance to join the board and do what I can to contribute.”
