Uber’s Zahid Arab Joins San Francisco Press Club Board

SAN FRANCISCO — July 08, 2025 — The San Francisco Press Club today announced the appointment of Zahid Arab, Public Affairs Manager at Uber Technologies, to its board of directors.

“Zahid gets it — he understands journalism from the inside out,” said Curtis Sparrer, president of the San Francisco Press Club. “He’s walked in a reporter’s shoes, knows what it takes to break news, and now he’s helping one of the world’s biggest companies tell its story. That dual perspective? That’s exactly what our board needs right now.”

Arab graduated from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and spent over a decade as a television news anchor and reporter in major U.S. markets before joining Uber, where he serves as a key spokesperson and manages public policy communications.

“My career began — and was shaped — by journalism, from my time at ASU’s Cronkite School to more than a decade reporting and leading in newsrooms nationwide,” said Arab. “In my role at Uber, I’ve seen how strong storytelling and trusted information connects people and drives real impact. I’m honored to join the San Francisco Press Club board to help champion local journalism and the work that shapes stronger, more informed communities.”
