September 2024 Scoop: San Francisco Press Club and Bay Area News

Welcome to the September edition of Scoop, the San Francisco Press Club’s monthly newsletter.

School is back in session and that means high school and college journalism classes are, too. Which student newspapers are you reading? Our board members follow The GuardsmanGolden Gate XPress, and The Lowell. Here at the Press Club, we’re proud to revive our college scholarship program with two $2,500 stipends this semester. Any undergraduate or graduate journalism student is encouraged to apply by September 25.

We’re also hard at work planning the Winter Awards Gala at the Julia Morgan Ballroom on December 4. Expect a sit-down dinner, prizes, and a celebration of the best of journalism in the Bay Area. Tickets go on sale in the coming months.
