SAN FRANCISCO — November 5, 2025 —  The San Francisco Press Club today announced the appointment of Mimi Towle, editor and co-founder at 270 Media, to its board.

Deeply involved in Bay Area journalism since 1990, Towle cut her teeth at The City Magazine, where her love for local storytelling grew. She went on to hold editorial positions at Parenting Magazine and Health Magazine and was a founding member of eHow.com. Over the years, Towle has created, edited and packaged award-winning content for magazines, websites and books, focusing on travel, health and lifestyle.

As part of the San Francisco Press Club board, Towle will help champion the ever-changing landscape of the Bay Area media ecosystem, known for its innovation, resilience and passion.

“Mimi’s been part of the Bay Area journalism scene since the days when local journalism meant rolling up your sleeves and doing it all. She still brings that same grit, creativity and heart to everything she touches,” said Curtis Sparrer, president of the San Francisco Press Club and principal of Bospar. “Mimi’s passion for connecting communities and supporting authentic storytelling is exactly what Bay Area journalism needs, and we’re excited to welcome her to the board.”

As the co-founder of 270 Media, a boutique publishing company, Towle oversees publications like Marin Magazine, a leading regional lifestyle magazine that has earned awards for content that matters to the Marin community, as well as websites, LocalGetaways.com and Hawaii Islander, with content provided by regional editors to ensure readers can travel like a local.

“I am thrilled to be part of the San Francisco Press Club at such a pivotal moment, as freedom of the press is questioned,” said Towle. “Now is the ideal time for our media community to come together, share resources and elevate the vital role journalism plays in keeping the Bay Area communities informed, connected and inspired.”
