First, grant applications for equipment must be postmarked by April 16. The California Newspaper Publishers Association is handing out grants of up to $1,500 per school specifically for the purchase of equipment to improve the production process at campus newspapers. Second, the San Francisco Peninsula Press club is offering scholarships o high school, community college, college and university students from the 11 Bay Area counties who are planning a career in print, broadcast or photojournalism.
