KGO's SKY7 is first local chopper to go HD

KGO-TV Channel 7 has upgraded its news helicopter so that it can transmit in high definition. While Channel 7 carries network programs in HD, it’s local programming is still broadcast in the traditional NTSC format. The copter was the first switch the station made to HD. KGO’s sister station, KABC Los Angeles, switched all of its studio cameras to HD in February.
