SBC/AT&T pull ads over Chron columnist

John Battelle, founder of The Industry Standard and co-founding editor of Wired, reports in his blog that SBC/AT&T has pulled $5 million a year in advertising from the SF Chronicle because of consumer-oriented columns by David Lazarus. Battelle bases his report on “sources that are very well informed inside the paper.” AT&T/SBC wouldn’t confirm or deny the report.
