May 1, 2020 San Francisco Press Club Board of Director’s Meeting (via Zoom conference call) Dinner / Awards Because of the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, the annual November awards ceremony will likely need a change of format. The discussion focused mostly on abandoning a physical awards dinner and instead honoring the winners with a Zoom presentation. In conjunction with that change, the board also considered discount pricing for this year’s entry fees. In subsequent emails, Antonia Ehlers recommended $35
SAN FRANCISCO PRESS CLUB MEETING March 24, 2020 (Meeting via Zoom video conference) Updates: Kevin Salwen, the co-author of “The Suspect” about Olympic bombing suspect Richard Jewell, lives is the Bay Area and is interested in working with SFPC as a guest speaker. There is a new CZI Community Space in Redwood City that offers free meeting and event space for nonprofit organizations in San Mateo County. This venue could serve as a potential hosting site for our public events.

Our overall goal is to host them in May. For this year, it is unrealistic but we will shoot for September of 2020 and hold the awards in May of 2021.
