SF Press Club Announces The San Francisco Examiner’s Breakthrough Sponsorship

The San Francisco Examiner is a key source for breaking news, local coverage and investigative journalism.

SAN FRANCISCO – December 6, 2023 – The San Francisco Press Club announced The San Francisco Examiner is a breakthrough sponsor of the SF Press Club 46th annual awards gala.  This comes after the Press Club announced a record 544 entries, the third time in a row the SF Press Club broke its previous record.

“As the oldest paper in the city, The San Francisco Examiner is proud to support the tireless work of local journalism,” said Schuyler Hudak Prionas, managing director of the San Francisco Examiner. “While national media outlets have turned their attention towards San Francisco this past year, journalism from our community was able to counter the pervasive narrative and elucidate the more complex issues impacting our city and region. It’s dedicated journalists, like those recognized with this award, who tell the real stories of San Francisco.”

“The San Francisco Examiner is a role model for all Bay Area media when it comes to our industry,” said Curtis Sparrer, president of the SF Press Club.  “More media outlets should follow in their footsteps!”

The awards gala takes place on Wednesday, December 13 at The Elks Lodge #3 at 450 Post Street in San Francisco. Cocktail service begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner and awards commencing at 6:30 p.m. CNBC’s Deirdre Bosa of TechCheck and KPIX’s Ryan Yamamoto will emcee.
